How to Play French Roulette
French Roulette is a take on the classic table game found in land-based casinos. There are no reels or paylines in table games, we are more focused on selecting the right number which the ball will land on. The Return to Player (RTP) of this game is 97.3%. With some French words on the table and a sleek design, French Roulette looks classy through and through.
Just as in the land-based casinos, you can keep track of hot and cold numbers, as well as place inside and outside bets across the table. You can explore the additional buttons on the table to expand your betting options as well as for viewing stats on your game so far. As with all other NetEnt table game productions, this game of French Roulette is easy to navigate as well as being visually appealing to play, too.
Prepare your Chips
The chips are displayed directly underneath the table, right in front of your position at the table. These vary between a minimum of £1 and £25. The maximum bet you can place is £500 per spin of the wheel.
To select your chips, simply click on the relevant value, and then on the position on the table you want to bet. You can increase your bet by clicking two, three, four times on the same spot, and you will see the bet figure go up.
Just below the choice of chips, you can see your total cash in your account. Next to it, you will see how much your total bet is in the current round. Besides that, your winnings from the latest round will be displayed.
Once you are happy with where you’ve put your chips, hit the spin button in the bottom right-hand corner.
Where Can I Bet?
Well, the table is your oyster. There are many variations of bet you can try out. You could bet on a single number or do a tactical punt which covers a group of numbers with one chip, or tower of chips. Shall we take a look at the different variants of bet?
Inside Bets
Any bet which is placed on the inner section of the table containing the numbers is classed as an inside bet. There are a few different components within inside bets that you can try out:
Straight
A straight is a bet on an individual number. To do this, just click on the number with the chip you want to play with, and that is your bet placed.
Wins on a straight bet pay out 35 to 1.
Split
If you’re drawn towards two numbers which are adjacent to one another on the table, you can use a split bet. Just place the chip on the line which separates the two numbers.
The numbers your bet will be placed on will illuminate when you hover over different parts of the table. This means you can make sure your bet is in the right place by looking for the illuminated ones before you click to place the bet.
A win on a split will award 17 to 1.
Street
Three numbers in a row from one side of the table to the other, in this case from top to bottom, is a street bet. Within a street bet, the numbers will be on top of each other on the table, and next to each other in numerical order.
For example, to bet on 1, 2 & 3 with a street bet, hover your mouse over the line on the bottom of the box 1 is in. This will illuminate the column, and you can click to place.
You can also create street bets which include the zero. To bet on 0, 1, & 2, hover over the corner where 1 meets two on the side where zero is. Check the illuminations, and then go for it.
Street wins pay out at 11 to 1.
Corner
A corner bet is one which covers four numbers in one bet. Simply click on the point where corners of all four numbers meet. In other words, click on the position which would be the middle of the square.
Corner wins pay out at 8 to 1.
Six Line
If a corner doesn’t do it for you, you can bet on six adjacent numbers at once with the six-line bet. Click on the ‘T-junction’ between all six numbers you want to bet on. In other words, click on the bottom corner where the two numbers on the bottom meet, check the illumination, and click.
A six-line bet win will pay out at 5 to 1.
Outside Bets
Outside bets are displayed around the side of the numbers section of the table and allow you to bet on bigger groups of numbers.
Column
Just to keep us on our toes, a column bet actually looks like it is on a row to us as players. Each of the three lines of horizontal numbers on the table constitutes an individual column bet. There are 12 numbers in each column, and to bet, click on the empty box on the right-hand side.
Winning with a column bet pays out at 2 to 1.
Dozen
Another kind of bet on twelve numbers is dozens. Looking at the table and its thicker lines, you can see three rectangles of 12 numbers. Each of these is a ‘dozen’ bet. To place a bet on these, look just below the column bets. The further down you get down the three options, the further away the dozen you are betting on is.
Look for the illuminations to make sure you’ve got the right block of 12.
A win on a dozen bet awards 2 to 1.
High or Low
The lower half of the numbers on the table, or the highest? That is all this bet is. The option for 1-18 is at the top of the table, and 19-36 at the bottom.
A win pays out at 1 to 1.
Red or Black
It’s one or the other here. Not including the green. There is a red diamond above the numbers and a black one below. Simply click on the one you want to place the bet.
Wins are paid out at 1 to 1.
Odd or Even
The odd and even bets are also above and below the numbers, and you can guarantee the result will definitely be one or the other.
Wins are awarded at 1 to 1.
Très Bien Indeed
As well as the ways to bet, there are also some helpful features you can use to inform your bet, if you wish. There are hot and cold numbers displayed on the notice board at the top-right of your game.
The Hot numbers are those which have come out the most, and the Cold have not come out recently. It is up to you how you choose to interpret it. There is also a little graph icon underneath the third dozen numbers which shows a chart of numbers which have come up.
All in all, this is a sleek game, keeping it classy and refined like the traditional versions. Easy to navigate with simple icons to guide you through the game.
