How to Play Swipe and Roll
Set in a classic American diner, the Swipe and Roll slot brings back all the nostalgia of a retro-fashioned fruit machine. NetEnt has taken the timeless look down a route which gives it a classy vintage feel, and we think it looks great. It has five reels and 20 paylines, with bets starting from 20p a spin. Packed with all of the classic slot features, you can expect Wilds and Scatters as well as a unique Coin Wheel feature during your game. The game gets its name from the bonus game feature, which is what makes this a unique take on the classic casino game.
Imagine the rock and roll background music you’d have heard in a diner in the ‘50s, and you’ve pretty much got the backing track to this game. If you’re not shoulder-bopping within a few spins, you’re missing out.
Choose your Stake
All of your 20 paylines in the Swipe and Roll slot will be in play at all times, and you can choose to increase the coins you bet against them, as well as increasing the level of the bet, too.
The coin value is shown beneath the rightmost reel, and you can use the little orange buttons either side to increase or decrease the coin value per payline. The minimum is 1p and multiplied by the 20 paylines means that the minimum bet is 20p.
If you choose to go a step further, you can also change the level of the bet. It is automatically set to 1, but you can increase it up to 10. Whichever number you set it at, your coin bet will be multiplied by that. It adds extra weight to the paylines, and should you win, the winnings will be multiplied by the bet level, too.
Once you’re all set, there’s a funny little switch you click to turn instead of a Spin button.
Dig into Some Wins
In keeping with tradition, we’ve got some fruit on the reels. You can win by landing three or more of the same symbols on a payline, but the bigger payouts will come from matching the maximum five.
The watermelon is the most valuable fruit, paying out a maximum of 300 times your coin bet for a five-of-a-kind match on a payline.
Landing five oranges across the reels on a payline could pay out the maximum of 150 times your coin bet, and the plum can pay out up to 80 times your bet.
Your lower value symbols are, as usual, the card values, Ace, King, and Queen. The maximum payouts for landing a full payline of these symbols can range between 20 and 30 times your coin value.
Special Features
Wild Re-Spins
The diamond symbol is the Wild in the Swipe and Roll slot and can appear on any of the reels. You may spot that there is also a diamond with an x3 on it, which can land on the three middle reels.
Both of these symbols can substitute for all of the standard symbols in play, and if you land a win with an x3 symbol on, you triple the win!
Three or more of the Wild symbols can activate the Re-Spins. During these spins, Wild symbols will hold their positions on the reels, creating more opportunities for you to create some winning matches.
Coin Wheel Feature
This feature can be activated randomly at any point during the main game. A colourful bunch of lights and arrows will point to the individual wheel which will spin, and whatever it lands on, you will win. You could either benefit from coin wins, a scatter or an arrow symbol. The arrow symbol points both up and down, meaning that you will win both of the amounts above and below.
Scatter
The Golden bell is the Scatter symbol and landing three of them anywhere on the three middle reels can activate the Bonus Game. You can also access this feature by landing it in the Coin Wheel feature.
Bonus Game
This is a great feature, where you have some additional participation. Three reels will appear, and you can choose to swipe either up and down on each of them, one at a time, to reveal your prize.
Wins include coin wins and arrow symbols to boost your winnings.
The Lowdown on the Diner
Swipe and Roll is an excellent slot if you’re looking for a touch of Americana nostalgia, or just fancy a little classic rock and roll to soundtrack your game.
Given it is a take on the traditional slot, NetEnt has done a great job of keeping it classy and exciting with the bonus features which many other fruit machines themed games don’t have. It’s easy on the eyes, ears, and fun to play.
The Return to Player (RTP) of Swipe and Roll is 96.35%. It is a medium variance game, meaning that while you may have to be patient for a payout, the average payouts should be decent.
